Patrick Vieira hasn’t been on the wrong end of too many 7-0 score lines, but the New York City FC coach kept it cool after Saturday’s derby blowout.

The New York Red Bulls clobbered NYCFC, with goals on set pieces abundant. Vieira said his team never got a grasp on its emotions for a derby.

In three league matches, all wins, Red Bulls have now dropped 12 goals on City while conceding just two.

From NYCFC.com:

“The match in general was a disaster. We didn’t play at all. I’m really frustrated, of course, losing the game, losing the way we did against the Red Bulls.”

The collected Vieira was also sure to point out to his players that their early season surge isn’t undone by the result. Up next? Orlando City.
