Arsenal is reportedly ready to make a huge move for Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain.
The Napoli striker has been prolific in Serie A, scoring 61 goals in 146 games since arriving from Real Madrid in 2012 and according to DiMarzio.com the Gunners have offered striker Olivier Giroud plus $55 million for his services.

Sky Italia have also stated that initial inquiries have been made on Arsenal’s behalf to Higuain’s agent, his brother Nicolas. Higuain was the leading scorer in Serie A last season with 36 goals in 35 appearances and also has 30 goals in 62 appearances for Argentina.
Higuain has been linked with Arsenal for many, many years and this rumor just won’t go away. At the age of 28 he is just entering his prime and it goes without saying that his predatory instincts are much needed by the Gunners.
It is also stated that he has a release clause of over $100 million and multiple reports since have said that Arsene Wenger has blocked the move.
As for Giroud being thrown into this deal and being valued at around $20 million, that seems a little low for a man who has scored 82 goals in 188 games for Arsenal. Yes, his strike rate has been scoffed at but he’s still an international caliber forward and Wenger should surely be aiming to keep Giroud and add a top class central striker to compete with him and Danny Welbeck.
The Gunners finished second in the Premier League last season and I think we all can agree that if they had a lethal striker up front they would’ve been

Gomes, like most of Portugal’s EURO 2016 winning side, will be a man in demand this summer.
