Jon Dadi Bödvarsson and Arnór Ingvi Traustason scored, the latter at the absolute death, as Iceland clinched second place in Group F with a 2-1 win over Austria at EURO 2016 on Wednesday.

Alessandro Schöpf scored for Austria, who failed to advance from Group F at EURO 2016 on Wednesday.

The Austrians came in expecting to win the group, while Iceland was supposed to struggle. Instead, Iceland jumped into second while Austria failed at nearly every turn.

Bödvarsson saw a long throw-in bound toward him near the penalty spot, and the Kaiserslautern man collected the ball to fire home in the 18th minute.

David Alaba earned Austria a penalty but Aleksandar Dragovic missed the attempt, striking the left post. Costly.

Schöpf took Dragovic somewhat off the hook when he deposited Alaba’s cross in the bottom right corner with a half-hour to play.

But the final kick of the game saw Iceland score on a counter attack to finish second and earn a date with England.
