It looks like he will be carrying that mesmeric form into the new season too, as Chelsea’s Belgian wizard dazzled Barcelona and scored an incredible solo goal in their International Champions Cup clash on Tuesday.

Hazard, 24, picked up the ball 40-yards out and danced past four Barca players before slotting the ball home to put Chelsea 1-0 up i the 10th minute. The Blues went on to win 4-2 on penalty kicks following a 2-2 draw at FedEx Field in Maryland, but Hazard’s moment of magic stood out.

In the build up to this friendly, Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho had singled out Hazard for special praise and claimed last season he was better than Cristiano Ronaldo. No pressure, Eden, but obviously Mourinho’s words of encouragement are spurring on the reigning PFA Player of the Year to produce sensational goals like this. As far as Chelsea fans are concerned, long may that continue.

Watch the superstar score an incredible goal in the video below, as Chelsea now head back to London ahead of the Community Shield final at Wembley against Arsenal on Sunday.
