Swansea City lost to Manchester City 4-2 today, but the Swans were impressive in defeat, deserving at least a point in a match that was stolen by City goalkeeper Joe Hart’s outstanding play.

Swans’ boss Garry Monk was extremely proud of his side following the defeat, as Swansea has already set a club record for wins (16) and points (56) in a Premier League season. The Swans’ final match is away at Crystal Palace next Sunday.

Monk’s side has impressed throughout the season and just missed out on a spot in the Europa League, as the Swans have secured an eighth-place finish in the Premier League.

Last week, Swansea was under relentless pressure from Arsenal but stayed strong defensively and stole a 1-0 win. Today, the Premier League’s only Welsh side went right at Manchester City, with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson controlling the midfield and Bafetimbi Gomis running at defenders up-top.

Swansea City opened up the season with a win at Manchester United and never looked back. With an eighth-place finish and impressive play from August to May, Garry Monk will certainly look to build on an incredibly successful run during his first full season as manager, which could earn him some votes as the best boss in the league.
