Leicester City has powered its way to the top of the table this season, reliant on a core group of players. The club has used just 23 different players this season, the fewest of any team in the Premier League this season.
With Jamie Vardy - a member of that core group - suspended for today’s game against Swansea City at King Power Stadium, Leonardo Ulloa started in Vardy’s place. It wasn’t an issue for Leicester. Already up thanks to Riyad Mahrez in the 10th minute, Ulloa saw himself onto the scoresheet before halftime.

Leicester captain West Morgan earned a free-kick on the left flank, and Danny Drinkwater delivered the ball into the box. With Ulloa waiting in traffic, he powered home the header for a 2-0 lead.
While the execution was perfect from Leicester, two Swansea defenders made mistakes here as well. Ashley Williams, already guilty of gifting Mahrez the opening goal, was beaten in the air by Ulloa. In addition, Federico Fernandez makes an unexplainable far-post run on the back end of the pack, almost like he’s part of the Foxes’ set-piece play. His run plays a whopping three Foxes onside, a trio who otherwise would likely have sent the linesman’s flag up had Fernandez not sprinted around the group.
The goal is a blow to not only Swansea but Tottenham as well, with Spurs five points back of Leicester City in second and looking to capitalize on any little slip by the leaders with four matches to go.
