VIDEO: Jurgen Klinsmann saluted by Coventry fans in the rain at Nuneaton

Klinsmann

.

During a typical English summer day the heavens opened, rain poured onto the pitch and the match was abandoned. This is during a preseason friendly in July!

After a few ‘sweltering days’ in England (that’s just above 85 degrees) huge thunderstorms rolled in over the weekend and drenched fans up and down the country watching their teams prepare for the new season.

At Conference side (fifth-tier) Nuneaton, they played hosted to League One outfit Coventry City but the match was called after 53 minutes when a stunning rain storm swept through the Midlands.

The players walked off, the PA announcers urged people to go home... but that’s not what happened. Oh no.

Watch the superb video above to see Coventry’s fans making the most of the extreme weather, as they saluted U.S. national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann in the process.

Growing up in England myself, any person of a certain age knows how to do the ‘Klinsmann’... heavy rain on a greasy pitch is a prime time to do this.

With love from Nuneaton, Klinsmann’s legend lives on.
