“He’s the City locksmith. He can open pretty much any door put in front of him.”
As Chelsea dropped points to Burnley, Manchester City made a statement that the title race is not over as they blew past Newcastle 5-0.
David Silva was the catalyst for City, as the Spanish playmaker tallied two goals and an assist in his hour-long cameo at the Etihad. Silva played a near-perfect ball through to Edin Dzeko on City’s third goal, before adding two of his own to close out the scoring, both well-placed left-footed strikes.
Silva has been magnificent for City all season long as his creativity and vision often create chances for the likes of Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko. This year he’s been scoring himself as well, his nine goals already his most since 2010.
