VIDEO: QPR’s Chris Ramsey giving no excuses for late Chelsea loss

Ramsey

Pressed numerous times to blame something for Queens Park Rangers’ late loss to Chelsea, manager Chris Ramsey offered no excuses.

“At the moment, we’re playing well and not picking up points at home which is disappointing for the fans,” Ramsey said. “We really want to give them something to shout bout at home. The performances have been good but the detail of how we are letting in these soft soft goals this campaign is alarming.”

QPR locked down Chelsea well for 88 minutes before conceding a late winner to Cesc Fabregas. The goal came after a terrible punt from goalkeeper Robert Green, but Ramsey wouldn’t even blame his shot stopper for the loss.

“It’s a bad kick and we had ample opportunities to defend it and we didn’t,” Ramsey said.

“I think at the moment we have been a little bit unlucky with some of the performances before but this is the most disappointing one because the point was there to be had and maybe three, and a lapse in concentration means we’re still below the line. It’s a point lost today.”

Despite this, Ramsey believes their Premier League status is still very much there to be grasped. “We believe that we can turn it around,” Ramsey said, “and I think that if we keep on going and doing what we’ve been showing, we’ll be there right to the end. But one thing’s for sure, if we don’t clear up those soft goals we won’t be giving ourselves the best possible chance.”
