Roberto Martinez is unquestionably beginning to feel the heat as his Everton side, who currently sit 12th in the Premier League, slumped to a third-straight league defeat on Sunday, 3-2 away to Newcastle United.
Speaking in his post-game interviews (above video), Martinez admitted his team’s current form “is concerning,” but held steadfast in his claims that “everything that could have gone against us in the last couple of games, it went wrong.”
Martinez probably isn’t fearing for his job just yet, but successive losses to Southampton, Stoke City and Newcastle — teams with which Everton are theoretically supposed to be jockeying for position in the league — have surely begun to wipe away a bit of the goodwill he earned with a fifth-place finish in 2013-14.
