Southampton’s players are enjoying a well earned break in the snowy town of Davos in Switzerland this week.
Ronald Koeman has taken his boys overseas on a “team bonding” trip, as the cones, whistles and balls have been left behind with the Premier League outfit in sixth place as their impressive season continues. They do not play again until March 15 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, so jetted off to Switzerland on Wednesday.

However, Saints’ chairman Ralph Krueger had a bit of a surprise up his sleeve for the players on this trip.
The former head coach of the Swiss national ice hockey team -- who has also acted as a special consultant for Canada during their Gold medal success in Sochi in 2014 and coached the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers -- arranged for Saints to have a morning skate.
Watch the video below to get a taster of what’s time come as Southampton’s media team will release a full video of their hockey excursion later on.

Correct me if I’m wrong... there’s probably a ton of really good reasons (mostly injury related) why professional soccer players don’t play ice hockey during the season, or at any other time during their playing days for that matter.
That said, it is certainly entertaining to see the chairman of a Premier League club whiz around the superstar athletes as Krueger had a lengthy playing career from 1979-91. As long as no unnecessary injuries occur, where’s the harm in this?
