Christopher Hellman put a bow on a fantastic junior year with a roaring left-footed free kick, and Lynn University held off a late rush from Charleston to win the NCAA D-II men’s soccer championship on Saturday afternoon in Louisville, Kent.
Hellman’s two goals, coupled with a two-goal, two-assist performance in the semifinal, give him a nation-best 28 goals on the season. The German-born attacker helped Lynn to its second national title in three season.
