Is it the flares being set off victoriously at midfield? Fans screaming “We won! We won!” shrilly or the sight of thousands of fans flooding onto a second-tier soccer field in the USA which makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck when watching this?
Probably a combination of all three.
On Sunday, the NASL’s Indy Eleven won their first home league game as a franchise in a run that stretches back six months -- a 2-0 win over Minnesota United -- and their fans reacted by storming the field at the Michael A. Carroll Soccer Stadium.
Over 10,000 fans have been turning up each week in Indy and they’ve stuck by their team in their time of need.
Watch the incredible celebrations in the video above, as Indianapolis rejoices.
