Tony Pulis sides are known to play stingy football, but against a newly-promoted side?

Watford dominated Saturday’s match against West Bromwich Albion, but couldn’t find a goal in a 0-0 draw in its home return to the Premier League at Vicarage Road.

Watford were the superior side in the first half, controlling the ball and taking 8 of the match’s 11 shots. That figure includes the only three that managed to find the frame, as West Brom struggled to show strength in attack.

The Hornets came close to scoring several times, with Odion Ighalo unable to finish as he did on Opening Day. Watford substitute Almen Abdi made some slick plays after coming on for Miguel Layun, while West Brom’s record-signing Salomon Rondon also subbed into the match late but didn’t find a goal.
