With less than two weeks until the transfer window slams shut clubs are hurriedly preparing themselves for ‘Deadline Day’ behind the scenes. The fact that so many teams now leave it to the last minute to acquire new players seems crazy, but it proves one thing: there’s bargains to be had out there. Usually.

Here is your latest installment of all the latest transfer gossip.

Arsenal are set to miss out on Sporting Lisbon’s midfielder William Carvalho, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola, as Chelsea have apparently won the race to sign the $56 million man. Carvalho, 22, will bolster Jose Mourinho’s midfield further but do the Blues really need him? You’re getting greedy now, Jose.

Manchester City are set to sell young defense Matija Nastasic, as the 21-year-old continues to struggle to win over Manuel Pellegrini. The Serbian youngster was a regular under Roberto Mancini but his career has stalled at the Etihad. The Daily Express believes Arsenal will miss out, again, as Italian giants Juventus will swoop in for Nastasic.

Malky Mackay is expected to be named as Crystal Palace’s new manager in the next 24 hours and wants to bring back a former Eagles favorite on his arrival. The South London side sold Wilfried Zaha to Manchester United last summer for $30 million but the pacey winger has failed to make any impact at Old Trafford. According to the Daily Star Zaha, 21, could arrive initially on loan.

Former Fulham and Liverpool left back John Arne Riise could be heading back to the Premier League sooner than we thought. Reports from Sky Sports state the Norwegian defender, 33, is claiming Aston Villa are after his signature. After signing experienced PL players Philippe Senderos, Joe Cole and Kieran Richardson already this summer, Paul Lambert could have another veteran on board soon enough.

Sticking with Fulham, the Championship side are set to lose Costa Rica’s Worls Cup captain, Bryan Ruiz, to Wolfsburg for $5 million according to the Daily Mail. Ruiz, 29, spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven and is desperate to avoid second-tier soccer in England.
