In the latest edition of Zlatan being Zlatan, Inter Milan’s former owner has revealed the striker’s final words to the club.

“It has been nice playing with you but you won’t win anything without me.”

Those are the words former Inter owner Massimo Moratti said Zlatan uttered as he boarded a plane to Barcelona, where he was sold to in the summer of 2009.

In Zlatan’s three seasons at Inter, the club won three consecutive Serie A titles. The big Swede racked up 57 goals in 88 league appearances for the club, and seemingly thought they could not continue their success without him.

However, the next season Inter Milan completed the treble under Jose Mourinho, winning the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia titles. Joke’s on you, Zlatan.

Zlatan’s move to Barcelona didn’t go as planned, as the striker and manager Pep Guardiola did not see eye-to-eye, having a tumultuous relationship that saw Ibrahimovic leave the club after one season.

Where’d he go next? Inter’s archrival AC Milan.

It’s no surprise Zlatan had some choice words as he left Inter, as he is one of the most outspoken footballers in the world. Never one to bite his tongue, the Swedish captain famously turned down a trial for Arsenal when he was just 17, saying “Zlatan doesn’t do auditions.”

While Ibra can always provide a chuckle for the average fan, having him on your club seems like a nightmare for owners. Luckily for those owners, Zlatan continues to back up his words with goals. Lots of them.
