Lions re-signed exclusive rights free agents DE Mitchell Loewen and LB Steve Longa.
They’ll get minimum salaries if they make the 2019 roster. Loewen appeared in one game for the Saints last season, then was cut in late December and claimed off waivers by the Lions. Longa made nine special teams tackles in 2017.

Seahawks signed Rutgers LB Steve Longa.
Longa (6'1/241) turned pro following his redshirt junior campaign after tallying 17 career tackles for loss, seven sacks, and five forced fumbles as a 37-game starter. He saw action at outside and middle linebacker and was named honorable mention All-Big Ten as a senior. Longa showed adequate athleticism at the Combine, running 4.78 with a 32-inch vertical and quality agility scores. Longa isn’t a power player and needs to get better in pass coverage, but he plays with a tough guy’s downhill mentality and was a sure college tackler. He’s an early-career core special teamer with some room for more down the line.
