    Pirates released RHP Tanner Anderson.
With teams making cuts to their 40-man rosters, the Pirates have decided to do some housecleaning. The 28-year-old made one appearance in the majors this year, his first stint in MLB since 2019 as a member of the A’s. He figures to land a minor league deal this offseason.

Pirates signed RHP Tanner Anderson to a minor league contract.
It’s a homecoming for Anderson, who was drafted by the Pirates in 2015 before making his major league debut with the club in 2018. The 28-year-old had a 3.60 ERA with 12 walks and three strikeouts over 15 relief innings with the Athletics’ Triple-A affiliate before being released late last month. He’s useful depth to have around and could very well get another chance in the majors.

    Athletics released RHP Tanner Anderson.
Anderson had issued 12 walks while recording only three strikeouts through 15 innings of relief this season with Triple-A Las Vegas. The 28-year-old right-hander is a former 20th-round pick of the Pirates.

Athletics optioned RHP Tanner Anderson to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Anderson was only up in the major leagues for a couple of days this time around and did not make an appearance. The 26-year-old right-hander holds a rough 6.04 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in 22 1/3 innings this season with Oakland.

Athletics recalled RHP Tanner Anderson from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Anderson will replace Nick Martini, who was sent down in a corresponding move. The 26-year-old Anderson struggled in his 22 1/3 innings earlier this year for the A’s, allowing a 6.04 ERA and 1.66 WHIP in that time frame. He’s not worth fantasy consideration at this point, especially if he’s going to pitch in a long relief role.

Athletics optioned RHP Tanner Anderson to Triple-A Las Vegas.
The 26-year-old hurler owns a 6.04 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 18/7 K/BB ratio over 22 1/3 innings for the big league club this season. It’s unclear if this is actually a demotion for Anderson, or simply to keep him on schedule through the All-Star break, as he wasn’t scheduled to pitch over the weekend. Paul Blackburn has been recalled from Triple-A to take his place on the active roster.

Tanner Anderson allowed two runs (one earned) in 4 2/3 innings and did not get a decision against the Twins on Thursday.
He kept the bases churning with activity but was able to dodge bullets for the most part. He allowed nine base hits and issued two walks while fanning three. He gave up an uneared run in the first inning when a catcher’s interference call with the bases loaded gave the Twins a freebie. Anderson’s nice start today was a big turnaround from his last game, when he was hammered for seven runs in 2 2/3 innings by the Angels. He has an 0-3 record and 6.04 ERA in seven games (five starts).
