    Giants signed OL Ted Larsen.
Larsen gives the Giants a veteran on the interior after the training camp retirements of Zach Fulton and Joe Looney. The 34-year-old journeyman spent the last four seasons between Miami and Chicago before closing out last year on the Bucs’ practice squad.

Bears signed G/C Ted Larsen, formerly of the Dolphins.
Larsen, 32 in June, was released by the Dolphins last week after flopping miserably as a starter there. In Chicago, he’ll be a backup along the interior line.

    Dolphins released LG Ted Larsen.
The Dolphins also formalized their release of DE Andre Branch. Together, the moves clear $9.1 million in cap space. Larsen has long been ineffective but was breathtakingly so in 2018. Going on 32, he will be forced to hunt for reserve work in free agency and is unlikely to land any guaranteed money.

The Bucs have installed former RT Jeremy Trueblood as their new starting right guard.
He’s replacing Ted Larsen. Larsen stood 6-foot-2, 305. Trueblood goes 6-foot-8, 320. As long as Trueblood can stay low and fire out of his stance that way, he should be able to make this work. For comparison’s sake, 6-foot-8, 300-pound Alex Boone of the 49ers has emerged as one of the NFL’s best right guards.

Coach Greg Schiano hinted that RT Jeremy Trueblood could see some action at right guard after the bye.
Trueblood lost the starting right tackle job to Demar Dotson. He’s not getting that gig back, but could replace struggling Ted Larsen inside. Larsen has been subbing for Davin Joseph (IR, knee). Any change will be welcome news for rookie RB Doug Martin, who has seen few running lanes on his way to 3.47 yards per carry.

Bucs placed LG Carl Nicks (toe) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The injury is reportedly similar to the one that ended the season of Cowboys ILB Sean Lee. Nicks has been battling it since early September. For the Bucs to end his season suggests a recent setback. A 2011 first-team All Pro selection and $47.5 million offseason signing by the Bucs, Nicks had been Tampa’s best offensive lineman and one of the league’s premier run-blocking guards. His loss is a blow to Doug Martin’s surging fantasy value. Interior swingman Ted Larsen is expected to take over as the starter.

The Bucs have elevated Jeremy Zuttah to the starting lineup at left guard, replacing Ted Larsen.
The undersized Larsen got smoked by the Lions’ defensive line in the opener, giving up a whopping seven quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. Zuttah isn’t likely to be a huge upgrade, but couldn’t possibly be worse.

Bucs C/G Ted Larsen’s 2013 base salary increased from $575,000 to $1.323 million after he hit escalators in his rookie deal.
Larsen was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round in 2010, but he was claimed off waivers by the Bucs that same season. He’s gone on to start 27 games in three years as an interior lineman. In an ideal situation, Larsen would be a key reserve. He’s entering the final year of his deal.

Patriots signed sixth-round C Ted Larsen to a four-year, $1.87 million contract with an $80,300 signing bonus.
Larsen is the first of the Pats’ 12 draft picks to sign. A defensive tackle early his career at N.C. State, Larsen converted to center as a junior. Though he’s an interesting developmental project behind Dan Koppen, he could bide his time on the practice squad as a rookie.

Ted Larsen is getting the first crack at replacing Hroniss Grasu (knee) as the Bears’ starting center.
Larsen took his first reps at the pivot with Jay Cutler and the first-team offense Monday. According to beat writer Brad Biggs, Larsen wasn’t particularly impressive, getting beaten by ILB Jerrell Freeman for a sack and then pushed around by NT Eddie Goldman. Making 12 starts at guard for the Cardinals last season, Larsen was PFF’s No. 77 guard out of 82 qualifiers.
