Former major leaguer Terrance Gore passed away at the age of 34.
Gore was part of three World Series championship teams as a pinch-running specialist — Royals (2015), Dodgers (2020) and Braves (2021) — despite totaling just 85 plate appearances across 112 major-league games from 2014-2022. The elite speedster swiped 43 bases during that span and added five more steals in 11 postseason appearances. The raw numbers don’t jump off the page, but Gore’s career will be remembered as one of the more unique statistical outliers of the modern era. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones at this time.

Terrance Gore has elected free agency.
The pinch-runner extraordinaire did make an appearance in the Wild Card Series for the Mets, but he was unable to prove a difference maker in the loss to the Padres. Gore will sign a minor league deal somewhere and probably pop up again with a contender next September. The 31-year-old speedster has put together an extremely fascinating career so far.

Mets selected the contract of OF Terrance Gore from Triple-A Syracuse.
Gore was likely to join the big league roster on Thursday anyways when rosters expanded to give the Mets a pinch-running and defense option off of the bench, but he’ll arrive a day earlier with Brett Baty (thumb) landing on the injured list. Gore hasn’t taken a plate appearance in the big leagues since the 2019 season with the Royals, but he’s earned a World Series ring each of the last two years as a playoff reserve with the Dodgers and Braves, respectively.

Mets signed OF Terrance Gore to a minor league contract.
Gore failed to latch on with a team over the offseason, but he’s found a gig now -- on his 31st birthday -- and will begin his stint with the Mets organization down in the Florida Complex League. The veteran speedster has 40 stolen bases in 102 career MLB games (77 plate appearances) but also a .224/.325/.284 overall batting line.

Braves sent OF Terrance Gore outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Gore was included on the Braves’ postseason roster as a pinch-running specialist and made just one appearance during their remarkable run to a World Series title. The 30-year-old speedster, who has collected a pair of World Series rings with the Braves and Dodgers the last two seasons, has the option to refuse the outright minor-league assignment and elect free agency.

  • CHC Starting Pitcher #30
Kyle Wright has been added to the Braves’ roster for the World Series.
Wright will replace Jacob Webb in order to give the Braves some length in a seven-game series. It’s still a bit of a surprise, as he barely pitched for the Braves this year. Also of note, speedster Terrance Gore is on the roster while Johan Camargo has been bumped off. The Braves will go with 12 pitchers and 14 position players for the series.

  • TEX Relief Pitcher #31
Chris Martin and Johan Camargo have been included on the Braves’ roster for the NLCS against the Dodgers.
Lefty reliever Dylan Lee and pinch-running specialist Terrance Gore have been left off the Braves’ NLCS roster. Martin will give the Braves another experienced right-hander in their bullpen, while Camargo offers some additional multi-position flexibility on the infield.

Braves purchased the contract of OF Terrance Gore from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Gore will be on the Braves’ NLDS roster as a pinch-running specialist, and could bring some value to the table in that role, especially in late-game situations. Drew Smyly is also included on the roster. Chris Martin, Richard Rodriguez, Spencer Strider and Cristian Pache are not on the roster.

  • FA Center Fielder #4
Braves signed OF Terrance Gore to a minor league contract.
Gore boasts an astonishing 40 stolen bases in 77 career major league plate appearances but also a .224/.325/.284 batting line. The 29-year-old has mostly been used as a pinch-running threat in the bigs.

  • FA Center Fielder #4
Dodgers sent OF Terrance Gore outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Gore didn’t log a plate appearance in two regular season games with the Dodgers and didn’t make it into a postseason game. The 29-year-old is basically relegated to a pinch-running specialist these days.
