Alabama four-star 2020 verbal DT commit Timothy Smith plans on taking an official visit to Florida.
The Crimson Tide received Smith’s pledge in mid-July, but the 6-foot-4, 340-pounder plans on sniffing around other options before he makes his final decision for the early signing period. In addition to Florida, Georgia, FSU and LSU are three programs to watch for OVs, here. On the 247Sports composite board, the Sebastian, Florida, native ranks as the No. 150 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Rivals’ Mike Farrell warns that “Florida could make this very, very interesting” when it comes to a potential flip of Alabama four-star 2020 verbal DT commit Timothy Smith.
Smith (6'4/340) pledged to the Crimson Tide in late July, but Florida remains right up on Alabama’s rearview mirror. Like right up there. Like they hosted Smith for a Friday Night Lights camp only a few days after he initially made his Alabama pledge. The Sebastian, Florida, native’s fall visit schedule could be a fascinating watch as the Tide looks to hold its ground on this one. Rivals ranks Smith as the No. 87 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Alabama received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 DT Timothy Smith.
Smith (6'4/340) announced his decision on July 17, becoming the 21st verbal commitment for the Crimson Tide in the 2020 recruiting cycle to date. A rising senior at Sebastian River HS (Sebastian, Florida), the newest Alabama commit is projected to contribute as a nose guard and 3-technique once he arrives on campus. The size certainly jumps out, but Smith also has the athleticism that you don’t normally see from interior linemen of his size.

Rivals recruiting director Mike Farrell believes that uncommitted four-star 2020 DT Timothy Smith “will continue to rise in the rankings.”
Farrell stumped for Smith while his outlet was putting together its Rivals250 rankings, just released on Wednesday. Notes the analyst of the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder out of Sebastian, Florida, “Big, athletic defensive tackles are hard to come by and he will get better as he improves his conditioning and works on his technique a bit more.” In the new rankings set, Smith lands as the No. 107 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Uncommitted four-star 2020 DT Timothy Smith will take an unofficial visit to Georgia this coming weekend.
Smith (6'4/315) has previously visited Alabama, Miami and Florida State this offseason. While most outlets do not yet have their concrete rankings released for the 2020 cycle as of yet, 247Sports views him as the No. 127 overall prospect in the class. You can reasonably expect his recruitment to draw into sharper focus next spring. For now, consider his various visits to be something of a reconnaissance mission.
