    49ers released G/C Wesley Johnson.
Johnson made 10 appearances for the Dolphins last season but was unable to seal a spot on San Francisco’s final 53-man roster despite swing tackle Shon Coleman undergoing season-ending ankle injury. The 28-year-old is a likely candidate to get brought on as depth elsewhere by Week 1.
  • 49ers signed G/C Wesley Johnson, formerly of the Dolphins, to a one-year contract.
A free agent until early last October, Johnson ended up making 10 appearances for the Dolphins. Headed into his age-28 campaign, Johnson will provide experienced depth if he manages to crack the 53-man roster.
  • Dolphins signed C Wesley Johnson.
Johnson takes the roster spot of starting C Daniel Kilgore, who was placed on injured reserve. After being a fifth-round pick by the Steelers in the 2014 draft, Johnson started 24 games at center for the Jets from 2015-17, but he was one of the worst interior linemen last year. Kilgore was one of the worst starting centers in the league this year.
  • Free agent C Wesley Johnson visited the Ravens Saturday.
It’s the first visit for Johnson since he was released by Detroit. The Ravens also hosted free agent C Hroniss Grasu and G Jordan Morgan.
  • Jets third-year C/G Wesley Johnson is sitting out minicamp with a broken bone in his hand/wrist.
Coach Todd Bowles hopes Johnson will be ready for the start or training camp. No surgery was required. Johnson played 175 offensive snaps last season.
  • Jets C Wesley Johnson is expected to take over for Nick Mangold.
Johnson is a restricted free agent but will be back after making eight starts last year. The Jets plan to move forward with him as a low-cost replacement for Mangold. Mangold’s release could force the Jets to give Johnson a second-round tender ($2.8 million).
  • Jets tendered restricted free agent C Wesley Johnson at the second-round level.
The second-round tender is worth $2.746 million. Johnson is penciled in as the Jets’ starting center, a role previously filled by seven-time Pro Bowler Nick Mangold.
  • Jets re-signed C Wesley Johnson to a one-year, $2.746 million contract.
A restricted free agent, Johnson was tendered at the second-round level. With Nick Mangold gone, Johnson is the favorite to open 2017 as the Jets’ starting center.
  • Steelers signed No. 173 overall pick G/C Wesley Johnson to a four-year contract.
Johnson (6-foot-5, 297 pounds) made 51 career starts for Vanderbilt, including 42 at left tackle. Only nine of his starts came on the interior, but that’s where he’ll play in the pros. Short armed (33 1/8") but a good athlete, Johnson could see snaps as a rookie if injuries strike.
  • Steelers selected Vanderbilt C/G Wesley Johnson with the No. 173 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Johnson (6-foot-5 1/4, 297) earned first-team All-SEC recognition from the conference’s coaches as a senior, setting a school record with 51 career starts. He made 42 at left tackle, seven at center, and two at left guard, allowing just two sacks between his junior and senior seasons. Short armed (33 1/8") but a good athlete, Johnson ran 5.11 at the Combine with a 29-inch vertical and 9-foot-3 broad jump. Johnson’s best NFL projection is as a zone-blocking interior lineman.
