Wilson Ramos has signed with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League.
Ramos was released by the Rangers at the conclusion of last season and hasn’t played in the majors since undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee back in 2021 when he was with Cleveland.

    Rangers released C Wilson Ramos.
Ramos signed a minor league contract with the Rangers back in late August and never wound up making it back to the majors. The 35-year-old veteran catcher tore the ACL in his left knee last September with Cleveland and there’s a strong possibility that his career is over. We’ll see if he manages to find a new opportunity this offseason.

Rangers signed C Wilson Ramos to a minor league contract.
Ramos tore his left ACL last August with the Guardians and it appears possible that his career would be over. The 35-year-old veteran backstop will head to Triple-A Round Rock and could wind up making it back to the majors later this season.

Wilson Ramos underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.
Ramos suffered the ACL tear -- and an MCL sprain -- back in late August. He’s already needed two previous ACL repairs on his right knee, and this latest procedure on his left knee could very well threaten his career. The veteran catcher slashed just .205/.248/.397 over 163 plate appearances this season between the Tigers and Indians.

Indians placed C Wilson Ramos on the 10-day injured list with a torn ACL and MCL sprain in his left knee.
Ramos suffered the season-ending knee injury -- or injuries -- on Sunday afternoon against the Red Sox. The 34-year-old catcher finishes the 2021 campaign having batted .205/.248/.397 with eight home runs and 20 RBI in 44 games (163 plate appearances) between Detroit and Cleveland.

Wilson Ramos will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL and an MCL sprain in his left knee.
Ramos suffered the injury during a throw to second base on Sunday. He’ll require surgery at a date in the near future. Ramos previously tore the ACL in his right knee back in 2016, but the difference now is that he’s 34 years old. His rehab could stretch into next season and it’s worth wondering what his future might be at this point.

Wilson Ramos hit a two-run homer and walked Monday against the Reds.
Ramos has two homers in two games for the Indians after hitting six in 128 plate appearances for the Tigers earlier this season. He’s a quality option as a second catcher in two-catcher mixed leagues while Roberto Perez is out.

Indians purchased the contract of C Wilson Ramos from Triple-A Columbus.
The 33-year-old backstop was hitting well at Columbus, slashing .317/.328/.517 with three homers and nine RBI in 16 games. He clubbed six home runs in an early-season stint with the Tigers, so there’s pop in his bat. He’ll share time behind the plate with Austin Hedges while Roberto Perez (shoulder) is sidelined.

Indians signed C Wilson Ramos to a minor league contract.
This was first reported by Daniel Álvarez Montes of ElExtraBase. Ramos was released by the Tigers on June 22, and he’ll stay in the division. The backstop was struggling with the bat with a .200/.238/.392 slash over 128 plate appearances, and also dealt with a lumbar spine strain. Ramos has provided fantasy relevance in the past, but he’d be a very risky addition -- even if he ends up spending time with Cleveland this summer.

    Tigers released C Wilson Ramos.
Ramos was designated for assignment after being activated from the injured list last week. The 33-year-old got off to a hot start at the plate this year but quickly fizzled, posting a .200/.238/.392 batting line over 128 plate appearances with Detroit. It was worthwhile for the Tigers to see if they could turn him into a trade chip, but it’s a better idea to look to the future behind the plate. Ramos will try to continue to his career elsewhere, but given his shortcomings as a catcher, his days as a regular are almost certainly over.
