The 2026 WNBA end of season awards announcements are off and running, as Minnesota Lynx’s Cheryl Reeve was named Coach of the Year on Monday morning.
This is Reeve’s fifth time receiving the award, which extends her own league record. Reeve previously took home the award in 2011, 2016, 2020 and 2024.

Reeve received 54% of the votes from WNBA journalists and broadcasters.
Golden State Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase followed with 27% of the votes and Washington Mystics head coach Sydney Johnson received 18%.
Currently in her 17th season leading the Lynx, Reeve Reeve guided Minnesota to a league best, regular season record of 33-11 and the No. 1 seed in the WNBA Playoffs.
During the 2026 regular season, Reeve served as an All-Star Coach for the sixth time in July and later that month, became the league’s winningest regular-season coach with 380 wins.
As the playoffs continue, the Lynx take on the New York Liberty in Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
