Sunday Night Basketball returns to NBC and Peacock this Sunday, August 23, as Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever take on Kamilla Cardoso and the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena. Live coverage begins at 7 PM ET on NBC and Peacock.
Sunday’s game marks the third and final regular-season meeting between the two teams. Indiana leads the series 2-0, most recently defeating Chicago 90-86 on August 8. Indiana Fever vs Chicago Sky Game Preview:
The Indiana Fever look to win the championship for just the second time in franchise history. Their last WNBA title came in 2012.
The team’s offense, propelled by the All-Star trio of Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell, has reached new heights over the last month, leading the league in field-goal percentage, 3-point percentage, and point differential. Clark and Mitchell are currently second and third in the league in points per game.
The Chicago Sky are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs for the third straight season. Their last postseason appearance was in 2023, when they were eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round.
Despite the team’s struggles, Cardoso’s development has been one of the team’s biggest positives this season. The third-year center currently leads the team in rebounds and has established herself as one of the Sky’s most reliable contributors on both ends of the floor.
“It’s been a tough three seasons for her here,” said Sky head coach Tyler Marsh. “Having to step into the spotlight of having to produce the way we’ve needed her to is a testament to her and her commitment to this organization.”
