Las Vegas Aces vs Atlanta Dream Game Preview:
The Aces (20-9) are currently second in the league, just four games behind the Minnesota Lynx, after falling 84-83 to the Chicago Sky on Saturday. Las Vegas led by 10 in the fourth quarter before Atlanta took a 79-78 lead with 2:25 remaining. Sky guard Sydney Taylor hit a game-winning 3-pointer with less than a second left.
“You hold the team to 16, 21, 18 and then give up 29 in the fourth quarter and get, defensively, completely away from what we did all game or don’t do it at a high enough level,” said Aces head coach Becky Hammon after the game. “This loss was completely avoidable.”
Wilson finished with a 36-point, 12-rebound double-double. Jackie Young also finished with a double-double, scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. NaLyssa Smith had 17 points and 6 rebounds.
Tonight’s game is the second of a season-long five-game road trip for the Aces.
The Dream (18-10), currently fourth in the league, enter tonight’s matchup on a five-game win streak. Atlanta is coming off a 98-89 victory over the Seattle Storm on Friday.
Angel Reese finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds, recording her 19th double-double of the season. The three-time WNBA All-Star currently leads the league in points in the paint (44.5), second-chance points (14.5), and offensive rebounds (11.1).
