It was initially reported that Emmet Sheehan was included, but multiple outlets have confirmed he’s not headed to Detroit. Skubal is inarguably one of the best pitchers in baseball and has won back-to-back Cy Young Awards for the Tigers, and he joins Los Angeles with a 2.79 ERA and 116/14 K/BB in his 16 starts this year. The pending free agent will join the loaded Dodgers’ roster as the new ace, and obviously, fantasy managers have no reason to believe he won’t continue to pitch at an elite level now that he’s in Los Angeles rather than Detroit.

Castillo is having the worst season of his professional career with a 5.06 ERA and 3-9 record over 20 appearances — 17 starts — and 99 1/3 innings. The 33-year-old right-hander has been much more effective in the past, however, and has pitched better after a dreadful start to his 2026 campaign. Still, this is not the Castillo of old, and he’s much closer to a streamer than someone fantasy managers need to have in their lineup. It’s fair to take a wait-and-see approach before believing in a rebound.

O’Hearn is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, according to the team. The 33-year-old suffered the injury during Friday’s loss to the Reds while running to first base in the ninth inning. It’s a massive hit for the Pirates as they’ll be without one of their key middle-of-the-order run producers until at least mid-September. The encouraging news here is that there’s a chance O’Hearn is back for the home stretch, and a potential postseason run.

Angels interim general manager John Mozeliak said in a team statement that Soriano won’t pitch this weekend due to the uncertainty of the next 48 hours leading up to Monday’s trade deadline. That doesn’t mean that a trade is imminent, but the club doesn’t want to take any chances. The 27-year-old righty has been the subject of plenty of trade rumors recently and it appears that Los Angeles will consider moving him for the right price. He’s in the midst of the strongest season of his career with a solid 3.29 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 127/57 K/BB ratio across 123 innings over 22 starts.

Divish and Jude add that Seattle is also listening on starter George Kirby, which was reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan earlier on Saturday. The fact that the Mariners are willing to consider moving Arozarena is a notable development as they sit three games out of the AL West division lead and a Wild Card playoff spot. The 31-year-old impending free agent would be one of the strongest right-handed bats available on the trade market. Where Seattle sits in the standings leading into Monday’s deadline is going to be the deciding factor whether they buy or sell.

Passan adds that the sense is that Kirby is available and could be moved prior to Monday’s deadline. He also notes that Seattle has been listening to offer for Emerson Hancock and Luis Castillo. The Mariners have top prospect Kade Anderson knocking on the door of the majors and figure to move at least one, if not more, of their current rotation members. Kirby would net the largest return in any potential trade package, despite holding a pedestrian 3.98 ERA across 120 innings this season.

The 26-year-old slugging backstop is the rare hitter that is statistically better away from Coors Field’s high-octane offensive environment and should command a massive prospect haul, especially since he won’t reach free agency for three more years. Goodman would be one of the biggest names moved at the trade deadline and it seems like Colorado’s new-look front office, which features Paul DePodesta at the helm, will have to be blown away to consider jettisoning their lineup anchor.

Naylor’s arrival seems to signal that Milwaukee is open to moving current backup catcher Gary Sánchez. The 26-year-old former top prospect never lived up to his potential in Cleveland, but he represents an interesting reclamation project for the Brewers behind starter William Contreras. He’s flashed some occasional over-the-fence pop, but needs to start making more frequent hard contact if he’s going to be a fantasy-relevant option in the future. It’s the type of challenge trade between two forward-thinking front offices that has a range of potential outcomes wider than the Grand Canyon.
