Rangers RHP prospect Alejandro Rosario will undergo season-ending right elbow surgery.
Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young neglected to divulge the exact surgical procedure, but fantasy managers should anticipate a lengthy absence, even in a best-case scenario. It’s a significant loss for the Rangers as Rosario was one of the fastest-rising pitching prospects in baseball last year, finishing with a sparkling 2.24 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 129/13 K/BB ratio across 88 1/3 innings (18 appearances, 17 starts) between Low-A Down East and High-A Hickory. The 23-year-old right-hander rose to 322nd overall in Rotoworld’s latest Top 500 dynasty rankings update, but this latest development causes his long-term stock to take a significant hit.

Rangers promoted RHP prospect Alejandro Rosario to Double-A Frisco.
Rosario has rocketed onto dynasty radar screens in recent months, posting a stellar 2.24 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 129/13 K/BB ratio across 88 1/3 innings (18 appearances, 17 starts) this season between High-A Hickory and Low-A Down East. The 22-year-old righty was a fifth-round pick in last year’s MLB Draft. He’s still a hyperspace jump away from the big leagues, but he should be on the fantasy radar heading into 2025.
