Poythress

Poythress has been out nearly a month due to this injury. Even if he were ready to go the forward would not be worth grabbing off of the waiver wire.

Poythress has been out since the first week of March and doesn’t look close to a return. Leave him on the wire.

Poythress sat out on Saturday against the Nets after getting hurt a few days prior against the Nets. With John Collins now back in the lineup, his minutes would’ve been limited anyway. Omari Spellman (ankle) seems unlikely to return this season, so Poythress should remain with the big club as depth for the rest of the way.

The Hawks were using him as a back-up five today with all of their injuries, so the Hawks are really going to need some bodies down low.

Poythress will provide some depth in the frontcourt for the Hawks, who will be without Omari Spellman (ankle) and John Collins (illness). Spellman is out for at least a month, but Collins should be back in the next game or two, so Poythress’ appeal is limited to the deepest of leagues in the short-term.

Poythress has been on the G-League yo-yo all season and isn’t on the fantasy radar with the Hawks healthy.

He’s a non-factor in fantasy hoops.

Poythress was recalled earlier in the week due to injuries, but is being sent back as the Hawks get healthy. Him being sent down means that Dewayne Dedmon is likely to be back on the court on Monday, which is good news. Poythress isn’t a fantasy option.

He’s been pretty solid when the Hawks call on him, but coach Lloyd Pierce will likely send him down to the G League once Dewayne Dedmon (knee) is back. Poythress only has short-term value in deep leagues.

He played well on Friday with 12 points against the Wolves, and he could be in the rotation again with Dewayne Dedmon out. Coach Lloyd Pierce said Poythress will go down to the G League when the team is healthy, so he only has short-term value in very deep leagues.
