Vikings placed LB Ben Gedeon (concussion) on injured reserve.
The Vikings promoted Alexander Hollins to the active roster in a corresponding move. Gedeon played fewer than 50% of the defense’s snaps in all eight of his games this season.

Vikings declared LB Ben Gedeon, CB Marcus Sherels, C Brett Jones, G Dru Samia, OT Oli Udoh, DT Jalyn Holmes and DT Armon Watts inactive for Week 7 against the Lions.
No big news here. Without Sherels available, either CB Mike Hughes, RB Ameer Abdullah or WR Bisi Johnson will return punts. Backup OL Pat Elflein will get the nod over Jones at center.

Vikings declared LB Ben Gedeon, LB Kentrell Brothers, RG Josh Kline, OT Oli Udoh, OG Dru Samia, DT Armon Watts, and DT Jalyn Holmes inactive for Week 6 against the Eagles
Gedeon has a concussion and Kline is sidelined with a foot issue.

Vikings selected Michigan LB Ben Gedeon with the No. 120 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Gedeon (6’2/244) made only 14 starts at Michigan, logging 21 career tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks and earning second-team All-Big Ten as a senior. He did exhibit above-average athleticism at the Combine, testing as a 64th-percentile athlete with 4.75 speed and an impressive 6.98 three-cone time. A similar prospect to ex-college teammate Packers ILB Jake Ryan, Gedeon played special teams all four years in Ann Arbor and should open his career there before eventually pushing for defensive snaps. He’s a high-floor pick with a low-end starter’s ceiling.

Vikings fourth-round LB Ben Gedeon got the start on the weak side in the second preseason game.
Edmond Robinson and Emmanuel Lamur were expected to compete for Chad Greenway’s old spot, but the rookie started getting first-team reps last week and was given the starting nod on Friday. “He did a lot of good things,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said. “He’s a football player, he finds the football, gets off the block, he had a couple that weren’t great and he had a couple misfits...but he’ll get better in those things.” Even if he wins the starting job, Gedeon will be a two-down player behind Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks.
