Vaughn Dalzell breaks down how to bet Game 2 between the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns.

Suns at Nuggets (-4.5): O/U 228.5

The Nuggets won Game 1 by 18 points, 125-107, and we have similar spreads and totals for Game 2.

The Suns led after the first quarter before getting out-scored 37-19 in the second quarter and trailing the rest of the game. The zig zag theory in the NBA points to the Suns in this game and I like backing teams in an area they struggled the game prior.

For the Suns, that’s the first half. The second quarter collapse will be a focus and getting out to a quick start to avoid a 0-2 hole will be point of emphasis for Phoenix. The Suns lost Game 1 versus Los Angeles in the first round and bounced back with a 123-109 victory in Game 2.

Devin Booker and Kevin Durant combined for 56 points in Game 1 and above 50% from the field. Denver was hot from deep, going 16-of-37 (43.2%), and that was the difference. The Nuggets hitting from deep like they did in Game 1 will be hard to replicate in Game 2, but Booker and Durant being themselves will not.

I played the Suns 1H +2.5 for -115 odds and the full game at +4.5 for -110 odds. I think the Suns can win this game outright, plus the the zig-zag theory if is alive and well in the postseason.

Pick: Suns +4.5 (1u), Suns 1H +2.5 (1u)
