    Marlins released OF Brayan Hernandez.
Hernandez was once a big-time international prospect, but the 22-year-old native of Rio Chico, Venezuela slashed just .159/.196/.265 in 166 plate appearances last season between a couple Low-A affiliates of the Marlins. It’s unclear what the future holds for the young outfielder.

Marlins acquired OF Brayan Hernandez, RHP Brandon Miller, RHP Pablo Lopez, and RHP Lukas Schiraldi from the Mariners for RHP David Phelps.
Hernandez is the headliner in the four-player return package for Miami. The 19-year-old center fielder got a $1.8 million signing bonus on the international market back in 2014 and was considered a top-10 prospect in the Mariners’ minor league system leading into the 2017 season. He has promising tools but is a long way from reaching the big leagues.
