Banks was one of the top high school middle linebackers in the country before a rape conviction put him in prison. Five years later, his accuser recanted and Banks was completely exonerated. After spending last season in the UFL, the 27-year-old is finally getting his NFL shot. “Jay, I’m on Cloud 10, I passed Cloud 9,” Banks told FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer.

Banks is an inspiring story, but off the football field since he was a teenager, he never stood a chance of cracking the Falcons’ 53-man roster. Perhaps they’ll continue to develop him on the practice squad, but it’s not terribly likely.
