Saints CB Brian Dixon is accusing police officers of racial bias following his Sunday arrest.
Dixon was booked in Miami Beach for resisting arrest without violence. Police say he was pulled over while riding a scooter for splitting lanes, swerving and traveling down the center of the roadway. Per the police report, Dixon said, “You’re seriously going to give me a ticket for that? I’m making a U-turn.” The officer said that due to Dixon’s “imposing size, stature, and weight, as well as the defendant’s agitated state,” Dixon was ordered to sit on the curb. When the officer approached, Dixon said, “Let me go. You’re just doing this because I’m a black man with dreads and I look like a criminal. I’m not a criminal.”

Saints CB Brian Dixon was arrested in Miami Beach for resisting arrest without violence.
Dixon played 166 snaps last season as an undrafted rookie out of Northwest Missouri State. Teams have been cracking down on off-field misbehavior in the wake of last season’s highly publicized Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson scandals. Fringe players like Dixon can’t afford missteps like this. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Saints cut him.
