Chandler Hutchison has committed to play with the Hawks’ Summer League team in Las Vegas, according to HoopsRumors.
A first-round pick of the Bulls in 2018, Hutchison has struggled to establish himself as a pro after a standout college career at Boise State. He’ll look to earn himself, at the very least, a training camp spot with the Hawks during next month’s Summer League action.

  • FA Small Forward #35
Chandler Hutchison (illness) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Friday’s game against the Mavericks.
Hutchison has appeared in just one game this season, so his availability will have no impact in fantasy basketball circles.

  • FA Small Forward #35
The Spurs have waived forward Chandler Hutchison.
He had a guaranteed salary of $4M so the Spurs will eat it and move on. Acquired in the 5-team mega deal that included Russell Westbrook, Hutchison only appeared in 18 games for the Wizards last season and seven games for the Bulls. He could emerge on a training camp roster elsewhere.

  • FA Small Forward #35
Chandler Hutchinson is being traded to San Antonio, along with a 2022 second-round pick as part of a multi-team Spencer Dinwiddie sign-and-trade deal.
Hutchinson averaged 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 15.7 minutes last season for the Wizards. Washington had been looking to unload his $4 million salary and attached a second-round pick to get it done. It’s unlikely he lands on the fantasy radar in 2020-21.

  • NBA Point Guard #19
Raul Neto (left hamstring strain) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Hornets.
Neto could potentially sit for a second consecutive game, opening the door for either Garrison Mathews or Chandler Hutchison to start. Mathews (right wrist sprain) is listed as probable for Sunday’s regular season finale, but it’s worth noting that Hutchison ultimately started Friday’s win over the Cavaliers. Neither Mathews nor Hutchison offers much in the way of DFS/fantasy value, however.

  • LAC Guard #0
Bradley Beal (strained left hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Cavaliers.
Beal will sit for a third consecutive game, as the Wizards look to sew up a spot in next week’s play-in tournament. Garrison Mathews is likely to once again fill the resulting void in the starting lineup, while Chandler Hutchison will pick up rotation minutes off the bench. Neither is worth taking a gamble on in either fantasy or DFS action. Raul Neto and Ish Smith would be better choices.

  • Garrison Mathews logged just 14 minutes as a starter on Monday, finishing with one 3-pointer, one rebound and nothing else in a loss to the Hawks.
This is pretty much what you can expect from Garrison when he’s starting, which is why we didn’t recommend him as a target when it was announced that he’d replace Bradley Beal (hamstring) in the starting unit tonight. Chandler Hutchison saw 25 minutes off the bench with Beal on the sidelines and finished with six points, five rebounds, one assist, one 3-pointer, three steals, two blocks and one turnover, so he might be able to have some low-end value in deep leagues sans Bradley.

  • LAC Guard #0
Bradley Beal (left hamstring strain) will miss the Wizards’ next two games and will be re-evaluated on Friday.
Beal won’t play in consecutive games at Atlanta on Monday and Wednesday. Russell Westbrook will shoulder even more of an offensive burden (if that’s possible), while guys like Raul Neto, Ish Smith, Garrison Mathews and Chandler Hutchison will be tasked with filling in the huge void caused by Beal’s absence.

Chandler Hutchison (left knee contusion) is available for Thursday vs. the Raptors.
This does not mean he’ll actually see some minutes though. It’s safe to leave him on the wire.

  • FA Small Forward #35
Chandler Hutchison (left knee contusion) is listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Raptors.
Hutchison played three minutes before leaving Wednesday’s loss to the Bucks, but at least there appears to be a chance that he’ll be available on Thursday. That being said, he doesn’t offer much in the way of production, so he should already be on your league’s waiver wire.
