Cheslor Cuthbert clobbered a solo homer on Wednesday, lifting Nicaragua to a 2-0 win over the Mets.
Cuthbert, who didn’t play professionally last season, made his last appearance in the majors during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season when he got into exactly one contest for the White Sox. The 30-year-old infielder took Mets ace Max Scherzer deep for a solo homer in the second inning and also stole a base later in the contest.
