Aggie QB might be ready to ‘cut loose’

After being severely limited during the first half of spring practice, Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson may be close to nearly full participation in the sessions.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Johnson participated in individual drills on Thursday. Even better news for Aggie fans is that Johnson is seemingly ready to give his surgically-repaired throwing shoulder a more stringent test in the coming days.

“He’s going to throw a little bit more on Saturday and even more on Sunday,” head coach Mike Sherman said. “Hopefully, we can cut him loose next week, depending on how he feels after today’s light throwing.”

Johnson underwent surgery on his shoulder earlier this offseason to repair damage incurred during a loss to Texas last season.
