Bruins land ex-Irish receiver Shaq Evans

When it was reported back in late August that Shaq Evans was transferring from Notre Dame after sliding down the Irish’s depth chart at wide receiver during summer camp, it was thought the sophomore could wind up at UCLA when it was all said and done.

As it turns out, that’s indeed the case.

ESPN.com‘s Bruce Feldman reports this Tuesday morning that Evans has indeed opted for the Bruins and is currently enrolled in classes at the school.

Unfortunately for UCLA and their less-than-impressive offense, NCAA transfer rules will require Evans to sit out the 2010 season. He will have three years of eligibility remaining when he takes the field in 2010.

Evans was rated as the No. 24 receiver in the country by Rivals.com coming out of Inglewood, CA, in 2009.
