Here’s a video of Penn State DT Anthony Zettel tackling a tree

Anthony Zettel certainly proved here he’s not all bark and no bite.

The Penn State All Big-Ten defensive tackle took down a tree not with an axe, but with some pretty strong tackling form (Zettel, writing puns for himself, is from West Branch, Mich.):

How @anthonyzettel trains in the off season

Seems like pretty good preparation if Penn State winds up playing Stanford in a bowl game.

The tree may have already been dead, but for anyone who’s trying to downplay this, just walk into the woods and try to do what Zettel did so effortlessly. And he did it with good technique, especially in not leading with his head, which obviously would’ve been problematic here.

Zettel certainly set the tree-tackling bar high for his fellow top collegiate defensive linemen. Here’s hoping we see Shawn Oakman give it a shot this summer.
