Mizzou DE Aldon Smith: ‘I’m playing’

Monday morning, Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel said that he “would love to have... back” defensive end Aldon Smith, who’s missed the past three games with a broken leg.

Later that day, Smith all but guaranteed Pinkel will get his wish, and just in time for the Tigers’ biggest game of the season thus far.

I’m playing. ... I’m playing,” the junior said yesterday about Saturday’s battle of unbeatens with Oklahoma. “A hundred and 10 [percent] I’m going.

“The leg is good to go. I’m ready to take down whoever is in front of me. I’m playing, there’s no question about it. I feel like I’m 110 percent.”

Pinkel also said that, if Smith is indeed healthy enough to play, he’ll slide right back into his starting job, a role he used last year to set a school record for sacks.
