Pair of ‘Canes headed to the NFL

For those Miami fans holding out some sliver of hope that Tommy Streeter and Marcus Forston would return for another season, you can let go of said sliver.

According to the Miami Herald, and as expected, Streeter and Forston have decided to forego their final season of eligibility and make themselves available for the 2012 NFL draft. To show the finality of the decisions, the Herald also reports that both players have signed with agent Drew Rosenhaus, meaning they would not be permitted to return even if they were to change their mind between now and the mid-January deadline.

Streeter led the Hurricanes in receptions (46), receiving yards (811) and receiving touchdowns (eight), while Forston played in just three games this year before suffering a season-ending injury.

The best part of the Herald‘s piece on the teammates declaring comes at the very end, though: “Streeter and Forston are both on pace to receive their college degrees in May.”

Well done, fellas. Well done.
