TCU QB Trevone Boykin undergoes minor surgery on left wrist

TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin underwent what was characterized by coach Gary Patterson as “minor surgery” on his left, non-throwing wrist and should be back to 100 percent by May, per Fox Sports’ David Ubben.

Boykin injured a bone in his left wrist during last season but played through the injury as TCU pushed for a spot in the College Football Playoff. He participated in TCU’s spring practice until undergoing the procedure and will miss the Horned Frogs’ spring game next week.

TCU announced Boykin would have surgery on his wrist back in February. He’s expected to be ready to participate in voluntary summer workouts in Fort Worth this summer.

Boykin exploded for 41 total touchdowns last year (33 throwing, eight rushing) and finished fourth in Heisman Trophy balloting.
