6-foot-2 5/8 and 215 pounds, Gardner originally agreed to terms with the Chargers after the draft but opted against signing a contract while attending to “personal matters.” The junior college All-American ran a 4.58 at his pre-draft Pro Day. Gardner would do well to crack the practice squad in Miami.

Gardner was a popular UDFA out of Sierra College with plus measurables and a junior college All-American background, but he’s now been let go by two teams since April’s draft. The Dolphins believe Joe Hastings has more upside.

Gardner bowed out of his handshake deal to take care of some “personal matters.” The Chargers were reportedly “high” on the 6-foot-3, 215-pound wideout. A sought after junior college recruit, Gardner signed with the Oklahoma Sooners for the 2012 season, but didn’t qualify academically.
