Packers CB Davon House announced his retirement.
Originally selected as Green Bay’s No. 131 overall pick in the 2011 draft, House played in 58 games (including three postseason contests) and registered 123 tackles, three interceptions, and three sacks over six seasons with the Packers. He also made 19 starts for the Jaguars in 2015-16. He informed the club of his decision to walk away as a member of green and gold Tuesday morning.

Packers placed CB Davon House on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.
House has been playing through a shoulder issue that now requires surgery. He saw just 29 snaps in Weeks 1-3. Depending on his health and the Packers’ need in the secondary, House will be a candidate for return from injured reserve.
  • FA Defensive Back #31
Packers CB Davon House is a candidate for a bigger role following the departure of Pat Lee.
Packers coaches are intrigued by House’s size and athleticism, and believe he can develop into a starting-caliber corner with the benefit of a full offseason. A fourth-round pick in 2011, House will compete with Sam Shields for playing time behind starters Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson.
  • FA Defensive Back #31
Cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt said that Davon House has “probably grown more than anybody else” since last season.
House, a 2011 fourth-round pick out of New Mexico State, appeared in just two games as a rookie. He’ll battle for a dime corner job with Sam Shields and rookie Casey Hayward at training camp.
  • FA Wide Receiver #19
Coach Mike McCarthy joined Aaron Rodgers in singling out WR Diondre Borel as a young player who has made major progress this offseason.
Of the two promising receiver projects awarded practice squad bonuses last season, Borel appears to have nudged Tori Gurley in the pecking order. McCarthy also joined in CBs coach Joe Whitt in praising Davon House’s improvement.

Packers 2011 fourth-round pick Davon House is working as a second-team cornerback at training camp.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirms House is “in the race” for Green Bay’s No. 2 corner job, cleared up by Charles Woodson’s move to safety in the base defense. House is battling incumbent Sam Shields, special teamer Jarrett Bush, and perhaps his most formidable challenger, second-rounder Casey Hayward.
  • FA Defensive Back #31
The Packers promoted second-year CB Davon House onto the first-team defense for Tuesday’s training camp practice, displacing Jarrett Bush.
The Packers opened camp with Bush opposite Tramon Williams, but it was likely just to send a message. House needed three days to overtake him, and second-round pick Casey Hayward has seemingly already locked up a first-team job in Green Bay’s dime defense. Sam Shields has slipped down the depth chart.
  • FA Defensive Back #31
Packers CB Davon House will not require surgery to repair his dislocated left shoulder.
House went down in the preseason opener. He’s hoping to be ready for Week 1, but House’s chances of winning a starting job appear to have evaporated. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel expects the injury to trouble House all season.
  • FA Defensive Back #31
Packers CB Davon House was diagnosed with a dislocated left shoulder in Thursday night’s preseason opener.
House will be reevaluated in three weeks to determine if he’ll require surgery. After showing impressive progress in his second NFL training camp, House may now not be ready for the regular season’s start. The injury improves the chances of Casey Hayward winning the starting job opposite Tramon Williams.

Davon House suffered a left shoulder injury in the Packers’ preseason opener.
An MRI on Friday came back negative, and the injury is not expected to require surgery. House didn’t specify how long he’ll be out, but he won’t practice Saturday and could miss preseason games. House is battling Jarrett Bush, Sam Shields and second-round pick Casey Hayward for the starting job opposite Tramon Williams.
