Bucs undrafted rookie OG Dominique Robertson was shot twice in the leg Thursday morning in California.
Robertson is reportedly “doing okay” and was released from the hospital on Thursday morning. He has been questioned by police since the incident, but his lawyer said he was the “victim.” The West Georgia product worked with the second-team at times during the offseason program, so it looked possible he would earn a roster spot. Until the severity of his injuries is disclosed, it is impossible to know what his outlook is now.
  • Bucs OG Dominique Robertson has filed a complaint against the Riverside County, Cal. police regarding his treatment during questioning about an incident where he was shot twice.
“We were terribly concerned about Mr. Robertson’s welfare and the blatant disregard for his rights, health, and safety,” his lawyer said. “Not allowing his attorney access to check on his welfare, and denying him water, medication, and access to medical attention was abuse on the part of the Sheriff’s department.” Robertson has maintained he has no connection to his shooter, and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. His physical condition is unclear ahead of training camp.
  • Bucs signed West Georgia OG Dominique Robertson.
Robertson (6'5/324) transferred from Texas Tech to West Georgia for his senior year, earning first-team Division II All-American honors for his elite performance at left tackle. Robertson has incredibly long arms (36"), but still pumped 225 pounds 30 times on the bench in Indy. A traits-based project, Robertson combines NFL-caliber movement skills with blind-side length. While not remotely ready to play, Robertson is worth a look as a developmental flier.
