Vikings LT Christian Darrisaw (knee) is active for Week 14 against the Commanders.
Both Darrisaw and LG Donovan Jackson are active after entering the weekend with questionable tags. In addition to both linemen being active, the Vikings will also have J.J. McCarthy back under center against a 3-9 Commanders team that will have Jayden Daniels back under center. The Vikings did declare QB John Wolford, S Theo Jackson, DL Levi Drake Rodriguez, OG Joe Huber, OT Walter Rouse, TE Ben Yurosek, and DL Elijah Williams inactive for Sunday’s game.
  • MIN Tackle #71
Vikings LT Christian Darrisaw (knee) is questionable for Minnesota’s Week 14 game against the Commanders.
Darrisaw practiced in full on Wednesday as he continues to rest on Thursdays, but he did not play off a questionable tag in Week 13 and it should not be assumed he’ll be ready for this week’s game. Donovan Jackson (ankle) is also questionable after missing last week’s game and returning to practice on Thursday in a limited session.
  • MIN Offensive Lineman #74
Vikings G Donovan Jackson (ankle) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
It’s his first return to practice since hurting his ankle against the Packers late in Week 12’s game. Offensive linemen tend to play more often than most positions when given limited statuses, so it’s possible this leads to Jackson being active in Week 14. He’ll likely be on the questionable line on Friday.
  • MIN Tackle #71
Vikings LT Christian Darrisaw (foot/knee) is questionable for Minnesota’s Week 13 game against the Seahawks.
Darrisaw rallied with a Friday limited session to hit the questionable line. Justin Skule will start for him if Darrisaw isn’t able to play. The Vikings ruled out Donovan Jackson (ankle) for Week 13 as well, with Blake Brandel expected to take his place.
  • MIN Tackle #71
Vikings LT Christian Darrisaw (foot/knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Left guard Donovan Jackson also missed practice with an ankle injury. Darrisaw left Week 12 with the foot injury during the fourth quarter and did not return. He had been playing through the knee issue up to that point. A DNP today puts him on the wrong side of questionable to open the week. Max Brosmer’s first career start might come behind a ramshackle offensive line.
  • MIN Offensive Lineman #74
Vikings G Donovan Jackson (ankle) left Minnesota’s Week 12 game against the Packers and will not return.
Another late offensive line injury for the Vikings in this one, as they’re already down Christian Darrisaw outside. Blake Brandel replaced Jackson for a few fourth-quarter snaps.
  • MIN Quarterback #9
Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said J.J. McCarthy (ankle) will practice following the team’s Week 6 bye.
McCarthy was expected to practice late last week, but some inclement weather on Friday kept the QB sidelined out of precaution. In addition to McCarthy, O’Connell also said LG Donovan Jackson, C Michael Jurgens, and LB Blake Cashman are also expected to practice after the team’s Week 6 bye. With a Week 7 game against the Eagles on the horizon, the hope is that the Vikings will have several key players back in a pivotal NFC matchup.
  • MIN Center #78
Vikings ruled out C Ryan Kelly (concussion) for Week 5 against the Browns.
In addition to Kelly, backup center Michael Jurgens (hamstring) has also been ruled out. The Vikings will also be out RT Brian O’Neill (knee) and LG Donovan Jackson (wrist), leaving the offensive line particularly thin against a physical Browns defensive front that’s led by Myles Garrett. With a Week 6 bye on the horizon, the Vikings will hope a week away will give their team plenty of time to heal up once they return stateside.
  • MIN Offensive Lineman #74
Vikings LG Donovan Jackson (wrist) did not practice Wednesday.
Jackson missed Week 4 with the wrist injury and will likely remain sideliend for the Vikings’ upcoming matchup with the Browns. Center Ryan Kelly suffered a concussion in Week 4 and right tackle Brian O’Neill went down with a knee injury. Neither player practiced on Wednesday. Carson Wentz is set to face the Browns without three of his starting offensive linemen.
  • MIN Offensive Lineman #74
Vikings declared LG Donvan Jackson, QB J.J. McCarthy, QB Desmond Ridder, OT Walter Rouse, OLB Andrew Van Ginkel, and TE Benjamin Yurosek inactive for Week 4 against the Steelers.
Jackson missed all three practices this week with a wrist injury. He was ruled out on Friday. With McCarthy still nursing an ankle injury, Carson Wentz will make his second start of the year.
