Westbrooks last appeared in a game in 2018, and the 30-year-old lineman has just 11 starts to his name. He’s not a lock to make the Raiders’ roster, and he’d be nothing more than a depth piece if he does crack the 53-man squad.

Westbrooks signed a one-year contract literally yesterday. Cold world. The defensive lineman has accumulated 67 games over five years and figures to be a depth option for a team in 2020.

Westbrooks previously appeared in 67 games over five seasons with the Rams, accounting for 79 tackles, nine sacks, and one forced fumble and fumble recovery for a touchdown. He’ll join the Niners’ offseason roster prior to the new league year.

The ex-Ram has nine sacks across 67 career appearances. Just one of those came in 2018, though he appeared in all 16 games.

Westbrooks was booked on a misdemeanor count of carrying a loaded firearm last September. He was sentenced to one day in jail and three years of probation after pleading no contest. Westbrooks could face discipline from the league.

Not many details are known, but a police report says Westbrooks and the mother of their child were involved in an incident that left the woman with a visible injury. Whatever took place happened in front of the child, which puts Westbrooks in even hotter water. With a new coaching staff taking over in LA, it’s possible Westbrooks isn’t tendered as an RFA. A favorite of the previous coaching staff, Westbrooks, a 2014 UDFA, played 532 rotational snaps last year.

Westbrooks was arrested in a domestic violence incident two weekends ago that left the mother of one of Westbrooks’ three children with a visible injury. Westbrooks has three kids with three different women and has been in custody battles for them. The 26-year-old was extended an original-pick tender by the Rams, giving Los Angeles the right of first refusal.

Westbrooks was a restricted free agent. The Rams have also re-signed exclusive rights free agents DE Matt Longacre and DT Louis Trinca-Pasat. A situational pass rusher, Westbrooks has four sacks over the past two seasons.

Westbrooks took a pay cut this season from $1.8 million to $1.25 million in exchange for $1.75 million in 2018. The move likely is an attempt to open up some cap space for Aaron Donald.

Westbrooks was reportedly pulled over for speeding, and police found an unregistered gun in his car. He was released on bail. Westbrooks is expected to practice with the team on Monday.
