Otto Lopez posts two hits, raises average to .336

Lopez is up to 27 thefts on the season and is a near-lock to reach the 30-steal plateau for the first time in his career. Lopez took a groundball off his finger on Saturday and has had a little discomfort holding a bat. His finger is taped, and he said he could be available off the bench on Sunday, which makes us believe this should not be a long-term situation. He’s been remarkable in 2026, and those three knocks now give him a .341 average with a .506 slugging percentage that shows there’s been plenty of hard contact between the dinks and dunks for the 27-year-old. It’s more than fair to wonder when the regression is coming, but Lopez just keeps hitting, and he’s passing the eye test in the process. He’s more than deserving of the first All-Star selection he procured prior to Saturday’s win.
