Tyler Phillips was charged with two runs over six innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Rangers.

Phillips gave up five hits, including a two-run homer to Ezequiel Duran in the fourth inning, which accounted for all of the damage against him. He struck out four and issued three walks. He’ll close out a two-start week with a road matchup against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium on Sunday.

Pirates optioned C Shawn Ross to Triple-A Indianapolis

The 26-year-old had his first MLB hit and home run the other day. He has gone 1-for-5 in two games with the Pirates and will go back to being organizational depth in the minors.

Pirates activated Endy Rodríguez (glute) from the 10-day injured list

Rodriguez missed a little under three weeks with a left glute strain. He began his rehab assignment on Friday, and apparently that was enough for the Pirates. He’s having a solid season and is an option in fantasy formats if you just lost Shea Langeliers.

    Brewers released RHP Lance McCullers

McCullers had been designated for assignment on Sunday. It appears that he cleared waivers and will now become a free agent. The veteran has a 6.55 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 44 innings this season for the Astros and Brewers.

White Sox activated OF Everson Pereira from the 7-day concussion injured list.

The 25-year-old is hitting .232/.299/.420 for the White Sox in 77 plate appearances this season. He should be an option against left-handed pitching until the team adds another bat at the trade deadline. If they don’t, he may be supplanted anyway when Austin Hays (calf) comes off the injured list.

Owen Caissie (calf) took on-field batting practice before Monday’s game.

Caissie had been swinging in the cage without an issue but has now progressed to on-field batting practice. The next step would presumably be facing live pitching before potentially beginning a rehab assignment. Those rehab games could start as soon as next week, and he could be back in Miami by the middle of August if all goes well.

Nationals designated LHP Matt Krook for assignment.

Krook was just re-signed by the team last Monday after being designated for assignment for the first time. He had elected free agency then but wound up returning to the Nationals, which may suggest the market wasn’t robust. He could wind up with the Nationals for a third time.

Schultz was used as an opener last week and allowed two runs while getting just one out. He is not on fantasy radars in any format.

Orioles recalled C Yohel Pozo from Double-A Chesapeake.

Pozo was claimed off waivers from the Cardinals on Thursday. He hit .242/.242/.273 in 33 plate appearances with the Cardinals to begin the season and was hitting .229/.256/.386 with three homers in 86 plate appearances at Triple-A before being designated for assignment. He will back up Chadwick Tromp in a situation that all fantasy managers should avoid.

Reds recalled 2B/OF Ivan Johnson from Triple-A Louisville

Johnson went 0-for-5 in four games in his first MLB stint earlier this season. The 27-year-old is hitting .278/.373/.474 in 61 games at Triple-A with 10 home runs and 11 steals. He will be on the bench on Monday with TJ Friedl starting in left field and JJ Bleday moving over to right field. That could be the regular lineup against right-handed pitchers for the next few weeks.
