Konnor Griffin went 2-for-4 with a leadoff homer in Friday’s loss to the Reds.
Griffin didn’t miss a beat in his first game since May 30. The 20-year-old phenom put the Pirates on the board in the first inning, taking Reds lefty Andrew Abbott deep with a 445-foot blast to left-center field. It’s the fifth homer of the season for Griffin, who has hit over .300 since May and continues to display good power at the plate. Between his lone rehab game in Double-A and his multi-hit on Friday, it’s safe to assume Griffin’s forearm issue has been put to bed.
